Privacy
This website collects nothing. No cookies, nothing written to your browser’s storage, no analytics, no third-party request of any kind, unless you click a link that takes you somewhere else. That’s not just a promise. This site’s build fails if a page loads anything from outside its own origin, and you can check the claim yourself in your browser’s network tab. That’s rather the point.
What this site doesn’t do
- Sets no cookies.
- Writes nothing to
localStorageorsessionStorage. - Runs no analytics, no error reporting, no session recording, no tag manager.
- Loads no fonts, icons, or scripts from a CDN. Everything is self-hosted.
- Makes no request to any third-party server, on this page or on any of the other three.
There’s no cookie banner here, because there’s nothing to consent to.
What happens if you click something
A few links on this site lead elsewhere: the GitHub repository, Ko-fi, my LinkedIn, my portfolio, and the projects thanked on the credits page. Every one is a plain link. Nothing loads until you click it, and clicking it is you choosing to go there, not this page reaching out on your behalf. Once you land on GitHub, Ko-fi, or anywhere else, their privacy policy applies from that point on, not this one.
The demo is not one of those. It is a separate application, but it is served from this same website, and the same build check that fails on a third-party request here covers it too. Trying Lockpad in your browser contacts nobody either.
The one thing not up to me
This site is static files on a web host. Like almost every web host, the server itself keeps a standard access log of each visit: IP address, page requested, timestamp. That’s infrastructure-level logging by the hosting provider, not something this site’s own code adds, reads, or does anything with. There’s no analytics dashboard behind this page, and nothing here asks for more logging than any other website gets from its host by default. If you’ve ever run your own web server, this will look familiar. Saying so plainly seemed more honest than letting “this site collects nothing” imply something no host can actually promise on a site owner’s behalf.
This is about the website, not the app
This page describes the four pages you can reach from here: the homepage, the install guide, the credits, and this one. It isn’t a statement about what Lockpad the app does with your notes once it’s installed, because Lockpad doesn’t run anywhere I control. Every install runs on its owner’s own hardware, reachable only in the ways its owner sets up, so there’s no central place for a policy like this one to even describe. What the app itself does and doesn’t do with your data is covered on the homepage and in the project’s security policy(opens in a new tab). This page is about the site. That one is about the software.
