Lockpad is a one-person project, and almost none of it is a first draft. Most of what makes it work, I did not write. The people below built something good and then gave it away, which is the best thing the internet does, and the app and this site are both better for it. Expect this page to get longer. I have no plans to stop borrowing.
Moving Icons(opens in a new tab)
by jis3r
More than 500 icons that animate when you interact with them, written for Svelte 5 and depending on nothing else.
Both, and neither ships a line of it. The app never could: Moving Icons is Svelte only and the app is React, so its animation designs were ported by hand into the app’s own icon components. They are behind every icon in it now, on every screen: the padlock’s shackle lifting, the archive lid opening, the undo arrow pulling back. This site did ship the package, for the claim pills under the headline, until it moved to React in August 2026 and could no longer justify a second UI framework for two icons. Those two were redrawn and their motion rebuilt in CSS. What both codebases took from jis3r is the idea of what an icon should do when you touch it, which is the part worth having.
And in turn
- Lucide(opens in a new tab): the set all of these are drawn from, and the grid Lockpad’s own padlock had to be built on by hand, because Lucide has no padlock and Lockpad rather needs one
- Dmytro (pqoqubbw)(opens in a new tab): the animated-Lucide idea that jis3r ported to Svelte. It is credited in his README, and it would be poor manners not to repeat that here
Watermelon UI(opens in a new tab)
by the Watermelon team
A React and Tailwind component library built the shadcn way: you copy the components into your project and own them, rather than depending on a package.
The app. Lockpad’s interface started from Watermelon and grew from there. Because the shadcn model is copy-in rather than install, what ships now is Lockpad’s own code sitting on what Watermelon worked out first.
And in turn
- shadcn/ui(opens in a new tab): the approach the whole thing is built on
- Radix Primitives(opens in a new tab): the accessible behaviour underneath the components, which is the keyboard handling and focus management most people never think about
